Celebrate the legacy of Elma Lewis with FREE performances in the park. Performances take place weather permitting at the Playstead, between White Stadium and the back entrance of the zoo. Morning shows are geared toward children. Evening shows are for the whole family.


The Elma Lewis Playhouse in the Park is produced for the Franklin Park Coalition by First Night, in cooperation with the City of Boston, Mayor Thomas M. Menino, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, ParkARTS and the National Center for Afro-American Artists, with support from The Boston Foundation, Clipper Ship Foundation, A.C.
