Become a Cultural Partner

Plans for the 2012 First Night Festival of the Arts (on December 31, 2011) are well underway. Year after year, this cherished tradition attracts an audience of one million people for a day-long celebration that includes: an afternoon Family Festival at the Hynes Convention Center; a Grand Procession down Boylston Street; Colossal ice sculptures dotting the landscape from Copley Square to the Boston Common; a vast array of music, dance, and theatre performances in venues all over town; and a spectacular display of Fireworks over Boston Harbor at midnight.

Through our CULTURAL PARTNERS program, First Night provides excellent opportunities to be involved in the First Night festival. Choose any or all of the following:

How to be a CULTURAL PARTNER:

1. Open your doors to First Night button holders on December 31, 2011, and provide general programming (or a special program) that promotes the great work you do all year round;

2. Offer free admissions or discounts for your organization and add value for First Night button holders in the weeks leading up to and following our New Year’s Eve Festival;

3. Sell First Night buttons, and generate revenue for your own operations. Cultural Partners can order First Night buttons at no risk for $15 each and sell them for the normal retail price of $18, giving you the opportunity make money as you celebrate community. Buttons go on sale right after Thanksgiving.

Benefits of being a CULTURAL PARTNER:

  • Acknowledgment your organization as a CULTURAL PARTNER through five intensive weeks of promotion.
  • Description of your related performances/exhibits in the First Night Program Guide and on our website at www.firstnight.org.
  • Representation of your venue on the map included in our Program Guide and on our website at www.firstnight.org (for organizations presenting programs on December 31).
  • Text mentions on prominent Thank You billboards at select Festival locations.
  • Logo placement with link on the Sponsors/Cultural Partners page of our website at www.firstnight.org.
  • Partners who take advantage of the Button Retail and Button Bonus programs will also be listed on additional pages on our web site and program guide.

We hope you are intrigued by the possibilities. If you would like to be a CULTURAL PARTNER, please complete the form below or call Deputy Director Tom Formicola directly at (617) 542-1399 with any questions or to talk about ways to maximize the benefits of a partnership.
